Bluegrass Banjos deliver sound with style and character.
We feature a "flat head style" cast tone ring, one piece
cast resonator flange, fancy fiddleback maple or
American black walnut necks inlaid with mother of pearl
and abalone, binding and purfling, and fancy figured
matching resonators. These banjos are truly hard driving
workhorses designed to make serious bluegrass music!
There are three models within our bluegrass line. The
Artist, The Paragon, and The Soloist.
As with all Wildwood banjos each successive model has
fancier figured woods for necks and resonators, and more
complicated or intricate inlay patterns. We believe that
there is no room for compromise when it comes to
playability and sound–but you should have a choice as to
how your instrument looks.

The Artist:
Newly designed inlays feature mother of pearl inlaid
into red abalone. Technically challenging but appears
much like the older traditional bluegrass inlays of the
1950’s. Available in either curly hard Maple (stained or
natural finish) or quarter sawn American black walnut. |

The Paragon:
A truly traditional bluegrass inlay pattern done in
mother of pearl and available as an option in green and
red abalone. Available in curly hard Maple (stained or
natural finish) or quarter sawn American black walnut. |

The Soloist:
Features the ornate "tree of life" inlay pattern. A
winding stem of mother of pearl from the bottom of the
fingerboard to the first fret. Flowers and leaves cut
from red and green abalone. A true labor of love,
resulting in a beautiful banjo. Though we can’t guaranty
that you will play your tunes any better, others will
think that you should! The Soloist is available in our
finest curly hard Maple neck and resonator, or the
beautiful quarter sawn American black walnut neck, with
a burl figured resonator to match. |
Tenor and Plectrum models, and optional tone rings such
as the arch top or tubaphone-style are available as
well.
